Io Capitano had its world premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival\, and it was an Official Selection at the San Sebastian Festival\, Palm Springs International Film Festival\, and AFI Fest.\n\nWinner of the Silver Lion for Best Director and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at the Venice International Film Festival — for newcomer Seydou Sarr\, making his feature-film debut — Io Capitano was Italy’s submission and is nominated for the best International Feature at the 96th Academy Awards. Capturing the contemporary immigrant experience from the perspective of people making the crossing through Africa into Europe\, Io Capitano was cast largely with non-professional actors\, including Sarr and Moustapha Fall\, building on the great tradition of Italian neorealism. In response to the Coronavirus pandemic\, we postponed the festival to 2021. Then\, we had to do it again. Then\, in 2022\, we learned that the park we envision the pizza festival at is under construction. So\, we’re targeting March 18\, 2023. We will keep you posted here\, on our website at www.gilbertpizzafest.com\, and on social media channels for official word. The Pizza Party must go on! \nTicket holders can either hold onto their ticket for the rescheduled date\, or email dave@phxfest.com for a refund. \nWhen it takes place\, the Gilbert Pizza Festival will take over Gilbert’s Civic Center park from 11am to 5pm\, celebrating the world’s favorite food (yes\, we asked everyone) – pizza! Festival goers can devour $2-$4 slices of pizza from about 15 of the best local pizza makers. \nOther festival highlights will include local craft beer\, wine\, live music\, lawn games\, a kid’s zone with pizza-making crafts\, and those unbeatable Arizona springtime vibes. Also\, don’t miss our incredible dessert vendors! \nFood vendors will accept cash and sometimes credit. Drinks are cash only. DESCRIPTION:For over two weeks\, around the world we celebrate Italian Design and designers that made a difference. The aim of the day was to create awareness about the importance of Italian design and how it affects our day to day lives.\nFor this reason we would like to acknowledge our own Italian Designer in Arizona who spent the last 25 years designing products to be used mostly in public spaces around the United States. \nPhoenix based Antonio Larosa was born and raised in Italy where he studied architecture and furniture design at the prestigious Polytechnic University of Milan.\nAfter relocating to the US\, Mr. Larosa was hired as a faculty member at Arizona State University where he taught furniture design and interior design courses.\n@Larosa was selected to be included in PHOENIX: 21st Century City\, an international book series honoring the finest artists\, designers and architects in new emerging cities (Phoenix\, Berlin\, and Moscow).\nAntonio’s passion for teaching design to the future generations took him to Georgia where -for several years- he was professor and Department Chair at one of the largest art and design universities in the United States.\nLarosa’s furniture designs have been selected for locations all over the US\, from President JFK Summer White House in Massachusetts to the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles\, from the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to Auburn University in Alabama. His work has been featured in many publications from all over the world and over the years has been also featured on national television shows including Donald Trump’s The Apprentice on NBC.\nMost recently Antonio Larosa was selected by the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) to design the Awards for the Arizona Gala.
